The Promises of Christ

We live in a world of tremendous technological advances and material comfort, and yet more and more people—many among the young—struggle with despair and hopelessness. A powerful antidote is found in the remarkable promises made to us by Jesus Christ in the gospels.

This book invites readers to “take Jesus at his word” and draw strength from what he promises. For some people, his promises seem to be too good to be true. But they are true, and he proves it. For others, the temptation is not that the promises are too good, but that they themselves are too bad: they could never be worthy to receive what God wants to give. But Jesus first spoke these promises to weak, sinful, people, and that is whom he addresses now.

Written in a straightforward, non-technical style, this book helps the reader pause and ponder the words of Jesus, so often stale from repeated hearing. His promises are great indeed, nothing less than the path to life eternal!
