Why would anyone, especially a normal teen, want to fast?

Fasting goes directly against the message we hear almost every day:
Get as much as you can of everything you find attractive. But many normal
teens occasionally fast and consider it a good experience. This pamphlet explores the reasons for fasting (some don't involve penance), describes the many types of fasts (some don't involve food), and answers the most common questions teens have about giving up something good to get something even better.
